Position Overview
The Kids on the Move Senior Coordinator is a movement instructor and junior administrator responsible for teaching classes for children ages 2 - 10 and overseeing Project Commotion’s private contract residencies. The Coordinator delivers classes in PC’s movement-based curricula to preschool and elementary students and manages program-related administrative tasks to ensure the smooth operation of Schools on the Move residencies. This role combines educational instruction and administrative support to contribute to the overall success of the organization. The Kids on the Move Senior Coordinator works across multiple programs: Schools on the Move, PC Movement Classes, Jardín Family Playgroups, and Camp Commotion.

Role Responsibilities:
Instruction of Movement Classes & Programs (50%)
Lead and/or co-teach movement classes, summer camp, and playgroups
Co-create curricular content for various residencies with support of the Kids on the Move teaching team.
Document curriculum for all classes taught
Lead/assist in adult education workshops as part of comprehensive programs.
Establish strong relationships with students, teachers, and families that facilitate open and ongoing communication
Early Childhood Contract Coordination (50%)
Support Manager with center communication and residency scheduling
Collect end of session surveys and organize data for end-of-year report
Meet with Move instructors working in designated sites to discuss curricula, program strengths and challenges, and coordinate workshops and other required services
Ensure that teacher and family resources are being shared with correct parties by Move instructors
Ensure that PC teachers who are at designated sites regularly track curriculum for their classes and that curriculum documentation remains up to date
Ensure program components are being completed by all Move instructors in a timely manner
Support Manager and Coordinators in developing and delivering family and teacher workshops at centers
Conduct post-service meetings with centers
Support Manager with data analysis and writing annual partner reports
Schedule: 40 hours weekly, Tuesday - Saturday
Qualification Requirements:
Education: BA Degree required, an emphasis in Child Development, Dance, Kinesiology or Arts Administration is preferred OR a minimum of five years lived/professional experience in the field.
Requirements:
3+ years working with children ages 3 - 8
Experience teaching movement-based education including modalities such as dance, martial arts, gymnastics, circus arts, yoga, or team sports.
Current Physical Health Screening (every 2 years thereafter)
Fingerprinting Clearance (DOJ)
Current Immunizations (TB, Influenza, MMR, Pertussis) (every 2 years thereafter)
Complete Mandated Reporter Training
Current CPR & First Aid Certificate (every 2 years thereafter)
Project Commotion requires all in-person staff to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
